My question is can the MDS be "turned Off". I am not original owner, and I can never tell if the MDS is working

Why would you want to turn it off?

I don't want it off. I bought this truck last year, and I haven't been able to tell when the MDS is on, so my question was is it possible that someone has turned the MDS off, or disabled it somehow

May wanna get a build sheet for your truck, and see if it is equipped. Can get one here. Just click on the 'equipment listing' link.

Apparently, it IS possible to disable it..... I believe it requires reprogramming the PCM though....

So it is either working fine, or not at all.

I think it's pretty picky about just what circumstances it will drop several cylinders.....

I bought a Superchips JUST for the sole purpose of turning MDS off. Someone else could have done the same thing before you.

It was a company, so I don't think they would have turned it off
