Default adding a fuse to TIPM

on my 2013 express I have multiple fuse locations in the TIPM that are marked as spare..

unfortunately just plugging a fuse tap in doesn't do the job as they don't make contact..
is there a special insert required in order to be able to use the spare location?

I don't think there are any contacts, or power, on the "spare" fuses.

You can use a mini-fuse Add-A-Circuit Kit from Lumision.Good for up to 20 amps. You can tap right into the cig/acc circuit.Local auto parts stores sell a cheaper version by Littlefuse but it's only rated for 10a.Your choice.

If you are ambitious, you can add the contacts in the spare slot and run the wires to look like factory. I've not been that ambitious, but it can be done.

I already have taps here but didn't want to piggy back.. since its too much work to add I have decided to use a tap
in the underhood light fuse location.. I don't have a light so its the perfect spot..

thanks again

wanted to follow up with you guys

the reason I wanted to add a circuit was for another 12v aux port that would be constant

what I ended up doing was tapping in to the glove box light plug and since I have no intention of ever adding
an upper glove box I figured this was the perfect spot since the constant port will only be used for my iphone
or my GPS when traveling..

why FCA in their infinite wisdom decided to make all of the USBs and AUX ports switched starting in 2013 is beyond me
AND NO before you mention moving a fuse, that can only be done on trucks with a center console as it is the rear port that
can be made constant
