I have a 2016 Ram 1500 5.7. Had a weak starting issue the other morning that required me to turn the key multiple times till enough juice got it started. Ran fine to parts store for new battery and jobsite where I installed the new one. Since then my radio will not turn off when the key is off and removed. All other interior lights including dash lights turn off like normal but the radio stays on. Any ideas?

 

I have a 2017 Ram 1500 which received a uconnect update. Ever since the install, the radio will stay on for a minute after the truck is shut off and they key removed and the door is opened. I had the truck in for an oil change and asked the mechanic about the issue. He had never seen this before. About 10 minutes later he told me this is a new feature in the update. I say that is bulls@#t. Whet the heck would I want my radio to stay on for minute after I get out of the truck????

 

Have you tried opening the door, getting out and locking the truck? Does it shut off then? Heck. My 04 Town Car, the radio stays on until I do just that.

 

Mine does this also. I take the key out , exit the truck, lock the doors and it still stays on. It’s ruffly a minute or more till it shuts off.

 

I just had the same problem on my 2013 Ram 1500. Turns out my kid accidentally went into Settings, Engine Off Options, and set the Engine Off Power Delay to 45 seconds. So radio stayed on for that long after removing the fob from ignition.
