Stalls, won't turn over
I have a 2014 Ram that I started having a coolant leak from the front of the motor which I believe was the water pump. Once it would start to get hot I would stop and let it cool down plus refill the coolant. It started to get hot so I was jumping off on an exit and the truck stalled. It wouldn't turn over at all so I had it towed to a dealership. They replaced the starter, key fob, and a couple of other things which came to about $1200. This took them over a month to do which wasn't a big deal since I travel for work. The issue then became that I drove the truck about 5 miles and and it stalled out in the middle lane of 610 in rush hour traffic in New Orleans, good times. The truck was towed back to them and now they are saying the battery is bad despite the fact that they tested it before and it was good. They want to replace the battery, ignition, and the key again saying that the brand new one couldn't be programed to the new ignition. I could smell something burning and saw smoke coming from under the hood both times plus the tow truck driver said he smelled something burning but they are saying that they are sure it's not wiring that shorted out. Is there any wiring at the front of the motor that would cause this issue or anything else anyone can think of that would cause this?

Moving this to the tech section.
Sounds like the dealer doesn't have a clue, and are just throwing parts at it, hoping for a fix. I would be tempted to take it to a different dealer..... |

And their 'most experienced guy' has been doing this for how long????
Though, I gotta admit, the 'performance' guy at the dealership I worked at was in his early 20's, and was a friggin wizard when it came to odd and strange performance problems....... |
