Ah, yes, the chrome clads..... The dealer was honest enough to tell me about them before I bought the 1500. Okay, my first impression was Dodge is on the cheap.
Was up in Mammoth last weekend and my buddy came on the trip with his new Honda Oddysey sporting very nice alloys. One mention of my chrome clads had these guys literally rolling in the snow laughing. The ironic thing is that when we were admiring the Honda we noticed what looks like the finnish on one of his alloy wheels was either peeling or flaking off, definitely wasn't scratches but looked like blems. So, whose the A$$ now?!
This would normally cost him $$ BUT should be under warranty, luckily. Clads look nice enough. Should be cheaper to replace once they start wearing and most end up getting upgrades anyways.

Wonder if this is some reaction to brake dust? I'm no chemist.
If it's noticeable and they don't all come off take it in and get new covers. If the dealer changes them out it would be valuable intel for this community.

Awesome cutaways of some "clad" wheels. From what i can read the are more durable, more resistant to stains.....can anyone confirm that our wheels are plastic or Stainless on Aluminum???

No wonder I've been buying German cars since the 80's. Chrome clad wheels... never heard of such a thing until today. And I was thinking of getting an '09 Laramie. Now I'm going to have to look at the '09 F-150.

If you let the wheels keep you away from the '09 Ram you are missing out on the best truck on the road. The '09 Ram is phenomenal, and easily beats what the competition has to offer. But like I said in another "chrome clad thread", the wheels are disposable. They were meant to keep the truck off the ground long enough to get it home from the dealership. Then you can put some quality wheels on the truck.

Getting the F-150 would be a big mistake.
