4x4 ESP question
Picked up my new 4x4 QC Sport Hemi on 4/15/09. It's very cool! First Dodge I've ever owned but won't be the last.
I've pretty much learned the controls but need help on ESP for a 4x4. I push the button and the "car with tracks" icon comes on the dash. My manual says to push it in for 5 seconds and an ESP Off text will appear in the message center. Well, no dice. Regardless of truck running and in park or any other position. Is the disable function different for a 2WD than on a 4WD? Any 4x4 owners that can tell me what i'm doing wrong?

I have been trying to find a way of turning the ESP off compleatly. Check out theis site http://www.noesp.com/ . I sent an email to find out if they were working on, or had plans to release a product for the 09 Ram. This was my response....
I've had a couple inquiries about this lateley... Here's what I've
responded with:
I'm not sure if it will work - the Jeep Grand Cherokee has the same ESP
system and on that vehicle it does not work - the vehicle's ESP system
software is different. If you'd like to give it a try, that would be good
with me. I'll refund your money if it doesn't work.
If you have access to the service manual in electronic format (.pdf) I'd
like to look at the wiring diagram for the ESP system, so I can check that
the wire colors are the same as in the LX's.
If you have the time and would like to give this a try, it'll give you a
good indication if my product will work or not: Remove the center console,
and under it you will find a small module (about 2"x2"x1.5" with a 4-wire
harness coming out of it. It should be mounted vertically, bolted to the
hump. Unplug the module, then start the truck. The ESP and BAS(if
equipped) lights should light up on the dash. Take the car for a spin
(maybe a burnout) and see that all functions normal and that ESP is not
intervening. If this all works, then my NoESP will, too. On the Jeeps, the
dash lights up like a christmas tree and the vehicle goes into limp mode,
until the module is plugged in again.
Thanks for your interest.

Hopefully some one will get this info and we will be able to have this NOESP thing.

This would be something I would love to do but I think warranty issues are going to be looked at and even I think they will be tapping into the little black box everytime you go in to see if there was something you did wrong like redlined it or some other faux pas.
