Default Splicing 4 Gauge Wire?

Hi guys,
I am planning on getting my new amp in on probably Monday, and I realized that my power cable is probably not going to reach to the position it needs to be in on the new amp. I have 3 or 4 feet of power cable left over from the original install, so I was wondering, what's the best way to splice 4 gauge wire? I am inclined to just twist it together and wrap in electrical tape, but that'd look kinda crappy and probably wouldn't be that safe. So what's another way?

I have a basic soldering iron, but I doubt it could handle that sized job correctly.

New 4awg wire is your best bet. That, or get a distribution block. Don't try to solder them together, it can be done, but like you said it doesn't look so great and if you do it wrong can be potentially dangerous to your system and your vehicle.
