need help playing dvd

I have 09 dodge ram. head unit plays dvd but only in park.can I bypass wires

what kind of head unit? its a safety feature on all the screens now-a-days. But most can be re-wired or have a code put in to get around. Pm me if youd like, with more info. I should be able to help ya out
