2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab Speaker Box

Hello, I just purchased a 2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab, and I would like to get some subwoofers to go into my truck. With the storage plates that are under the rear seats I am not confident that I have many options. If anyone knows of a way, please let me know. I would like either two 10"'s or 2 12"'s. Thanks for the help.

You can find a bunch of different kinds on EBAY.

I have an MTX box under my backseat that contains 2 10's. It's pretty nice but the only problem is you lose all that nice storage space.

you can always remove you front middle seat and have a box custom built to hold anything you want. thats what i did i have a jl audio 12 w7 running a jl 100/1 amp to it. its the most bass you would ever want!

you should go with a 1200.1 amp + 2 10" Kicker L7 subwoofers, oh and a fiberglass box + lifting the rear seat about 2", cuz thats what im doing :D

Check out hotboxes.com, it is a custom box that replaces the storage bin under the center console, you can get a 10" or 12" it is also color matched to your interior. I have one and it is great, don't need 2 woofers believe me.

While i was searching the web for the best box for my 04 QC, i found these pictures. I DON"T have the storage plates in my truck, just storage holes i can shove stuff into.

Also, i found out that with the airspace available is not much! You can't run 12's unless you have enough mounting depth and airspace, so the 2 12's i had from a different car are on the shelf right now. A company called PROBOX ROCKS makes very nice boxes out of high quality MDF and other things, and has designed a box for the new dodge Quad cabs that holds 2 10's, and has sealed airspace above the cone, and airspace below the sub that makes for great sound, i've heard. This box can bolt down for perm installation, or not. You can also purchase SUBS from the manufacturer and they will ship the thing all wired, mounted, and ready to go (of course the box is huge). They have representatives all over, but i got it right from the manufacturer. Their website is http://www.proboxrocks.com/ 1-800-919-3313 They make boxes for all different makes and models. add a /dealer to the web address to get info on their SUBS

Some pictures i've included are from a couple of people who have the PROBOX and some other guy who built his own box with his amps in the middle. THe last is an MTX box you can get loaded with subs from MTX, but not as good in my opinion.

I am waiting on my loaded PROBOX to arrive within a few days ($400=box,2subs, $hipping). The people are nice, and very knowledgable. They offered to drill the perm mounting holes, give me the hardware, wire the speakers together and include 18 feet of speaker wire. They mainly sell to dealers ( i am not one), so the number i listed is usually for tech support, and seems like a back line. They don't take credit cards, COD shipping or money order first (probably because they just invoice their dealers).

Hope this helps,

James
p.s. The popular location to mount amps seems to be under the front seats, but i'm going to try on the back wall somehow because my HUGE Phoenix Gold amps stick out A LOT from under the seats. Also make sure your AMP is not greater than 11 inches wide, or it will not fit under the seat. :)
