For those who have Sprint or Verizon as your phone network and also have:
1) Either of the following radios <RES, REQ, RBZ or the RHB>,
2) Android version 4.3.x or 4.4.x,
3) An issue when attempting an outgoing call <Call Completed is heard from Uconnect>,
4) Uconnect incoming text message notification says "new message from unknown number" even though the person’s name is in your contacts,
Now the original TSB is written up for a "No Response" issue. Meaning that when you press the Uconnect button, nothing happens at all. However this update will also take care of the outgoing call issue where you hear "call completed" but the call is still going thru on your phone itself.
The supported years are V2 2011 (vehicles built after 6-2011) thru V1 2015 (vehicles built prior to 6-2014)
On the 2011 vehicles, they will actually gain an extra feature, they will gain MAP (Message Access Profile) that is needed for BT texting capabilities. The phone also needs to support this profile. Now you won't be able to send a text similar to what you would if you typed it. There are 20 generic message and they can be heard thru Uconnect.
The TSB# is 08-112-14 and is available thru the dealership's service dept.

 

If youu are having this issue, then you can now perform the update yourself.

All of the Uconnect SW updating is done the same as it has been for the last 5 years.

*******NOTE***** this TSB will only work on the following radios -----RES, REQ, RBZ & RHB. it will not work on the 730N radio.


Here are the instructions:

1) Download the file from the Mediafire link that I sent you.
2) Save the file to a thumb drive that has been formatted to FAT32.
3) Rename the file by deleting (Android1) so that the file reads uconnect.upn.
4) Place the thumb drive into the USB connector (I’m not sure which radio that you have but if it’s a touchscreen radio, don’t use the USB connector on the radio faceplate. You must use the remote USB connector that is attached to the Uconnect module)
5) Press & release the Uconnect phone button and say “set up, software update”.
6) Uconnect will respond with “starting SW update and you will now start hearing beeps, the beeps will go for about 20- 25 minutes (however, I have been told that some thumb drives have taken a little longer due to their transfer speed). Once you hear that the beeps have ended, the update is finished. Uconnect will go thru a reboot now.
7) If while you’re doing the update, you hear an error message stating “the digital signature is……….”, please try a different thumb drive.
