Well found a Alpine MRD-M605 amp for a pretty good deal. Its rated 400w rms @ 2 ohms @ 12.2vdc. 600w rms @2 ohms @ 14.4vdc. The inspection sheet says tested at 651w rms @ 2 ohms @ 14.4vdc. Since the car provides 13.7vdc while running, I figure thats around 500w rms. Since the db drag race rules states for street A class the engine has to be off, this is the perfect amp for the TREO 12" sub that is rated at 400w rms. I can def tell the difference between the MRD-M350 350w rms @ 2 ohm @ 14.4vdc. I now can actually run the HU with the sub gain at 0db vs +3db and keep the bass balanced with the rest of the music. Just too bad that Alpine went with the exposed connectors instead of hiding them under a panel.
