Now that would be sweet. A 4.7L Hemi. I suppose it will have a conventional timing chain and overhead valve design.

Actually, what Joe said makes tons of sense to me about the 4.7L hemi. That would so perfect for a Dakota RT model.

Heck the current 4.7L will beat an stock RT in the quarter anyway when they are similar body styles.

Todd, don't forget you could also get a 4.7 with a manual trans, so you could really knock the socks off a r/t. Seen that one done in person myself!

I've never seen one race the other, but you probably saw the article from 3 years ago in Mopar Now where they raced them 4 or 5 runs and the 4.7L beat it every time. Biggest problem was traction if I recall, on the RT. I can't imagine how bad it would be with a 5.7L Hemi.

this could simply be a case of who is driving. but my buddy has a 01 dakota CC with the 4.7(auto) and i've never lost to him at the local drag strip im 00 RC R/T. but i remember seeing performance numbers being favorable to the 4.7 anyways.

Um c/c against r/c? Think you have a weight advantage there! I have never seen a same body style 5.9 beat a 4.7. Auto or man! Also just heard latest rumor about the new 4.7, it won't be a 4.7 at all, a 5.1 instead. But that is very unconfirmed.

On a dragstrip it's favorable because it produces less torque and doesn't spin the tires too bad.
