Please don't lump the CAW and UAW together. They are apples and oranges. As far as I know, the UAW stopped what they were doing to help out the situation with the CAW. I heard they had a contract proposal ready but the CAW crap took over.
I am a UAW member and yes I am willing to do whatever it takes to help save the company but noone is down here asking me what I would give up. Let's hope they don'y screw this up.
If any one of the conditions the government has mandated does not happen then it won't matter anyway.
Right now the situation with Canada and the Banks refusal to give an inch are the biggest problems. Not the UAW.
Chrysler has threatened to pull all operations from Canada if need be.
