It wasn't. The new Hemi is far more efficient and cleaner burning than the old Hemi by a long shot. I can't believe it will continue to be popular though with the gas prices the way they are.

Same here. I don't understand people. When gas prices go up, bigger engines and SUV's become popular? [&o] What ever the public wants I guess grows the business.

Yeah,NOW they probably are. But for a while they were popular when gas prices were high.

My new Hemi gets 19 city and 25 highway. That ain't too bad. Remember, most of the time it's a four banger. In contrast, my Belvedere get's 8 mpg average mileage.

the Hemi will remain popular if they can continue to put out big performance numbers, especially with the 6.1 putting out 425. Idiots will drop 30 grand on a 325 or whatever it is new Mustant GT, and get awful mileage, and the smarter ones will go for the bigger HP, just as efficient, dodge.

Depends what you want. When was the last time Mopar had a V8 RWD 2-door car with a backseat anyway? (was Mirada the last one?)

i don't care about gas mileage. i drive my intrepid, like i stole it, and my gas mileage is sh*t. i would much rather have the trill of acceleration nd driving fast, then worrying about mpg. ill pay w/e for gas, i cant put a price on what i get out of how i drive my car.
