Has anyone heard of anything replacing the 4.7 liter engine made at mack ave#1.

 

I don't think Chrysler is going to be replacing the 287 anytime soon, it's still a new engine. Just look how long the 318 and 360 lasted.

 

I haven't heard anything about DC replacing th e 4.7L

Wasn't there some talk a while back about them redeveloping the head to be like the new Hemi.

mackave1, I assume that you work at mack I. I used to, now I'm at warren truck. And we are slowing down big time as well. We were off last week and this week. Suppose to get a few more off in August as well. The only rumor I've heard is the redesign of the head to a 3 valve design. Another far fetched one I have heard is that the 4.7 may turn into a 5.1. But I have no good sources on that one. What dept are you in? I was in blocks for most of my time there at mack. Man I miss that place!

They should just bring back the reliable 5.2 instead of stretching it to 5.1
