Will MultiAir make the mighty Hemi even mightier?

How does 517 horsepower and 541lb-ft of torque sound?

Costly and a long way off.

multi air?? is this a new name for the Chrsyler's MDS??

And exactly where does the power increase come from??

Nah, multiair uses variable cam and intake to maximize fuel burn. In theory it should make engines more powerful and efficient. After looking at FIAT's numbers compared to the competition, especially the Japanese, I don't see it really accomplishing either goal particularly better. MDS is multiple displacement system-it shuts down unneeded cylinders when cruising to improve fuel economy.

I agree, the Mini outpowers the 500 without it. Neat concept, but seems more suited for an OHC engine. The 4.7L would be a better candidate is it is still around.

I would say add Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) first.
