Needs more power. Sometimes I don't know why I ever sold my 96' v10. Even though I couldn't keep a tranny in it.

Because it got 10mpg on a good day and the truck itself fell apart like most 2nd gen Rams do.

Sometimes I wonder if I should have bought a V10 myself, considering I only get 13 mpg hwy on a good day and the V10 has a buttload more power to throw around.

Default 08 Power Wagon.

If money was no object do you think it would be wiser to modify the slightly used Hemi I have in my truck now or do a 6.4 swap. Would be nice to have the 6 speed to go along with it.

I too would like to see the actual power curve. It is obviously detuned to get the power down at a usable rpm vs the high rpm SRT8. Hopefully with a more retrictive exhaust, longer intake runners and lower duration camshaft, it may have a nice flat torque curve from off idle to 5000rpm which will work well in a truck.

No, it is not enough.

The GM trucks are getting 420hp & 460 ft-lbs of tq with the 6.2L Ecotech3

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...t-drive-review

The Ford Boss engine (6.2L V8) in the F-series produces 411hp & 434ft-lbs of tq.

It is time for Dodge to give the Hemi a major update (say GDI).

Yeah, the torque numbers are a bit low. It has 470lb/ft in the cars at a higher rpm.

I think there's plenty of power there but no gearing to back it up as usual.

Wanted to bring this poll back from the dead...

The local dealership is claiming that ram says this new 6.4 hits peak hp/torque at about 1,000rpm LOWER than the 5.7 and if that is the case then that's at least a step in the right direction for their HD line. Keep the 4.10 gear ratio then that would be a beast. I just wish that they would offer a manual trans again.

EDIT I still agree it needs more torque tho
