If you had to guess
in which of the next 12 months
will the 'real world' cost of a full size pickup
drop to the lowest level
and be the best buy?

RE: USA Today: Pickup sales slow & prices dropping
Hank, I think that mid winter December thru March. Reasoning would be, coupled with the gas prices and slowed sales, will be the fact that both Toyota and GM are coming out with brand new offerings in January. Both have a lot to offer. I think that they will all be pretty anxious to get thier offering moved. Chevy and Toyota need to have a good year to justify thier new vehicle engineering expense. Chevy and Ford have been having financial problems and need sales to improve. Dodge is better off financially, but they are offering the oldest technology/model of the four. People want new technology. Dodge will have to entice them to buy thier long in tooth model. This could be fun. Another factor to throw in is that December has everyone's mind on the holidays and out of showrooms. It is notoriously the worst month for sales. January everyone has spent thier downpayment money on the holidays, so a buy is out of consideration.
Another consideration is that Diamler Chrysler has recently changed a policy regarding purchasing an ordered vehicle. It used to be that the buyer would get the incentives when ordered or when delivered, which ever was better. Now it is only when the vehicle is delivered. There is no longer any price protection. I always order because if I'm spending that much, I want it exactly the way I want it.
