'Barn find' 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona
'Barn find' 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona doesn't run, but is worth a ton
This “barn find” was actually discovered under a shed, but that doesn’t make it any less of a diamond in the rough.
A rusty, but very original 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona that has seen much better days may be seeing them again soon, as it’s set to cross the block at the upcoming Mecum Auctions event Kissimmee, Fla., in January.

I'd rater see how it was found than staged pics! What i want to know is the story behind it. I came across a news paper from 1970 and was looking threw the classified section and found a Daytona for sale. The owner just bought it and was selling because he was getting deployed to Vietnam. Makes you wonder if he ever made it back. Could be a similar story behind it.

It's a Daytona alright. But painting flames on it is beyond belief. As for letting it rot like that, sometimes things don't go the way you expect. Mine was in storage for 35 years while I was away working abroad and it got a number of dents, scratches and bumps all over as a result of being more or less carelessly moved around. Apparently a cat got under the cover and sharpen its claws all over the top. Even though it was stored inside in a temperate warehouse, some squirrel family made its home in the double exhaust system (The mufflers and pipes were stuffed with acorns when I took them out...). As for the inside, some mould took hold of the under carpet giving a very uninviting smell to the interior. So, I'm doing a complete rebuild. Should be completed next spring and I'll post a picture then.
