Any bodymen out there?? Help
Here's my question... WHen repainting an a truck, not changing color but have replaced alot of the truck with used southern parts, do you need to or should you primer the entire truck or only the bad spots you have went down to bare metal and/or used filler at? Is it better paint adhesion to use a primer sealer or is it just a waste of money?
Thanks in advance

I would prime it then wet sand, Then you have a uniform surface to paint. There may be reactions with different paints. You may not be able to see the differences in coverage if you have multiple colors as a base. So it's a good idea to prime.
i am not a body man but i am a tech who used to do mechanical repairs for a large bodyshop.
from what i saw...whenever a panel got repaired, the entire panel was primed and painted. they never painted over paint.
what ever you use, get a good clear coat.

I am a body man, and the guy who ends up fixing other's poor repairs.
Sealer is layed on like primer and looks a lot like primer, it could easily get mistaken for priming an entire panel.
Painting over paint is another bad idea.
