Angry Rear Axle Question

Does anyone know the weight of the Rear Axle and wheels for the 2017 Ram 2500 Turbo Diesel Laramie Longhorn Limited. Its a 4x4 Off Road. I am trying to figure out the actual GAWR of the axle on my truck. I read in an article that when you are calculating your cargo weight on the axle that you have taken to a CAT Scale, you need to subtract the axle and wheels. The label on the door says the GAWR is 6500 but at my weighing, it weighed in at 7280 with our 5er loaded and all camping gear. That was the only weight that was over any of the listed weights. Do I need to change my axle to a larger capacity axle or what? Unfortunately, we were misled by the RV dealership and they assured us we were good on weight. We are... if we don't load anything! arggggghhhh! And no, I cannot afford to go out and buy a new duallie, just got this one.

Changing the axle won’t help. A lot of other factors go into increasing a vehicles GVWR. brakes, cooling, etc. if it’s listed on the door sticker what it is, there is really nothing you can do to increase it without putting yourself in danger.
