Any door? Engine running or off? Probably one of the HVAC door motors cycling.

any door opened you will hear the buzzing. car not running and don't think it's HVAC. it's a very annoying buzzer. i was thinking of some type of warning buzzer

Does it still ding if the lights are on or the key is in the ignition when you open the door with the car switched off?

it is not the standard chime for when lights or key left in. the buzzing happens when you first open a door in the am and will continue until car is started. sometimes it can be heard later on in the day or when car sits for awhile. also today coming home from my son's house - everything shut down for a second when i came to a stop sign - like if I had turned the key off and then back on.

I'd get it diagnosed by the dealer or a competent repair shop. All we can do is guess.

I agree. I am curious to find out what it is. I haven't heard of this issue before.
