Heater/AC problem

When I turn on the de-froster on high, It blows ice cold air......... I put my hand on the aluminum A/C tube, and it was ice cold...........obviously the air condtioner should not be running when the defroster is on.
Which fuse can I remove to disable the A/C ??

To clarify my problem: I want to dis-able the A/C compressor ....without affecting the defroster...... Can this be done by removing a fuse ???

Nope. All the new stuff uses the ac system when defrost is selected. you have something else going on. May want to look on caliber specific web site.

Have you given it a chance to warm up? Or is this immediately after cranking it up? As stated, defrost function uses AC comp to dry the air (most vehicles since the late 90's do this). This works on any temp setting.

Is this for the Caliber or a Dodge Ram? If it's for a truck, I'll move it back. PM me.

Sounds like a blend door issue if you are getting no heat. As mentioned, the a/c runs for 2 reasons. 1 to remove moisture from the air to defog the imside of the glass. 2 to keep the system in use in the colder seasons to keep the seals from drying out and leaking.
