Angry caliber transmission overheating

I have a 2008 Caliber and the transmission overheats in hot weather and in hilly roads. I need to pull over after the dash warniig light appears and the engine looses power. It's fine in cold weather. How do I fix the problem?

Are you the original owner of your Caliber. Reason asking if so your car is covered by a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty and should be able to be fixed by dealership at no cost to you. I just had mine in for some issues, part of mine was under the warranty and the other part I had to pay for. Mine is a 2008 Dodge Caliber SXT, and I only have 71,900 miles on the engine and transmission. She is fixed now and running like new again.

Ask your dealer.

That problem cured for me by getting the "dip stick" and making sure the level was correct...and the temperature must be minded doing this check.

Not all tranny codes will set "check engine" light...check for codes with scanner
