Power lock issues - Passenger sliding door - GC 02 Sport
Good morning folks. Noticed around a month ago that the passenger sliding door (non-motorized) wasn't locked while driving. Strange thing was that I couldn't lock manually. Seems there was something blocking the rod from sliding down. Checked the wiring assembly in the track to the door, and all seemed to be clean, and connected. 2 weeks later, the door started locking again.
The locking issue is back now, so I've taken apart the door panel, and here's what I've found:
- Upper handle and outside handle both connect to the rear lock mechanism, and are operating properly.
- Child lock functions on door, and will inhibit opening from the outside, as designed.
- Motor/solenoid assembly has an level which clip-locks to the "lock rod". This lever doesn't appear to move all the way back to the lock position
- Disconnected the lock-rod from the lever, and lever still won't budge. Don't want to force it, and not sure if it's dependant on something behind or on the lock that isn't functioning
Any suggestions on what to check next ? I didn't check power yet, as one still should be able to manipulate the locks manually, correct ? Also, if I'm to check the wiring harness next, what's the proper way to take apart the connector ? Also noticed on the base of the door, where the track wiring assembly connects, there is a connector with a red 'tab' that can be slid out. Any info to check there would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rhino
