Default Help: New transmission installed but van won't start!

I installed the transmission and all seems to be fine, except the fact that the van won't start. The engine will turn over and no strange sounds appear. It just won't start.

I had the van up on jacks for about 4 months so can it be a fuel issue??

Thanks,

was there a tone ring connected to the fly wheel? (big round ring with holes in it every few inches) If yes i would bet that you either left the crackshaft position sensor unplugged or broke it putting the trans in.

The 3.0 does not have crankshaft sensor. There was a ring on the flywheel but all that was mounted. However, I did find a 3-pin connector towards the back of the transmission but I cannot find a sensor to put it on. I did connect the speedsensor so that one is fine too.

Everything I cam find online suggest that there is a crankshaft position sensor on the trans. I dont know if your able to send pictures or not but the one I did at work had the sensor near the rear engine support. To get at it you have to get at it from underneath the battery box. I dont know if you are able to take pictures of it or not. Or the connector you found loose. That would help though.

The haynes manual mentions that the 3.0 does not have a crankshaft sensor and that the camshaft sensor is located within the distributor. The 3-speed transmission has three sensors; speedsensor, lockup sensor, and neutral sensor.

I like to know actually if I get fuel. I do hear the fuelpump relay at thefront but should I hear the pump in the back as well??
