Default ignition lock removal

Hi

I need to replace my ignition lock since many times I wasn't able to turn it on.
I have original keys but i guess some pins were damaged somehow.
Tried it before but wasn't able to get it out.
2001 grand caravan.

thanks

spray the lock and key with wd40, remove the cover around the around the lock. you'll need to turn the key and release the lock and pull the lock assy out. install back the same way.

When you said to remove the cover you mean top and bottom plastic that it's around the the column?
Also, there's no need to remove any screws?

I really appreciate your help, again

Thanks

Default Ignition Key Lock

After removing plastic surround, try tapping the lock cylinder with a small hammer or rubber mallet as you attempt to turn the key, once key is in run position you should be able to see the rectangular pice that protrudes from bottom of the lock cylinder, push this part in with a small screwdriver and hold it in as you pull the key lock cylinder out.
