how do you program a key fob for a 2010 grand caravan & how many key fobs can be made? DIY

You can program up to 8 remotes. But you need to have the dealer program the remote, because you need the key codes.

 

not 100% true, dealer needs to program it if you have only one left. If you have the 2 originals or 2 then you can program it. its in the manual howto. if i recall you have to put the firt turn it to on then remove then put next do same and then put in the one you want to program.

Yup, I just bought a 2010 grand caravan sxt previously owned a week ago. Only had one key fob. $170.00 for the fob and 30.00 to program it plus tax... what a huge rip-off.

 

depending ya deal i would of requested it on the sale of the van that 2 keys be supplied. anyways you can now get one from ebay $50.00 and program it yourself. always good to have if you loose one ya can still program it yourself.

 

You are correct ,but you will need the serial number of y0ur van to order a new & correct fob !!! then insert an old fob turn to on then off ,then the second old fob to on then off , then the new fob to on & start the engine . this has to be completed in 10 seconds !!! The key fob must be new to be programmed. If it was previously programmed to a different vehicle, the dealer cannot program it. There must be some way to wipe the program and reprogram the key fob. If anyone knows how, please share.

 

The dealer can erase all keys that are program and start over. And program all key again.
