Default 06 GC SXT - Heater takes over 20 minutes to blow hot air

Greetings...

The heater in our 06 SXT takes at least 20 minutes to start blowing hot air, and even then it blows it for a couple mintues than reverts back to cooler air.

Would this just be a radiator-need-flushing thing, or something more?

Thanks!

A

That almost sounds like the blend door in the ductwork is broken. It controls the hot and cold settings.

I also would think about replacing the thermostat and gasket too. This would less work to do,instead of removing the dash.Which you may end up doing if the blend doors is the problem.

T stat first and make sure ur full on coolant, then look into tearing apart the dash if problem persists

Needed new thermostat and water pump as it was leaking coolant all over.

which would explain no heat as no/low coolant wouldn't allow for heat transfer into the interior
