Default AWD transfer case

Anyone know of any rebuild parts for these? Just got a 2001 with bad transfer case. only 4 in found in the entire USA and all want way too much for a used one.

Someone has to have rebuild parts for them any leads?

Dealer says complete replacement only no serviceable parts. (of course so they can charge $2000)

I wonder if you can just get the extension housing for the trans and an axle for a 2wd model. Make a conversion.
just throw away the 4wd system, it is full of problems.

actually, I've done that many times before. here's my options. 1st is replace the transfer case (this is the most difficult option since NONE are available used and new they are 2x what I paid for the van),
2nd, get some help finding internal parts I only need a ring and pinion gear (no luck finding just those parts on my own)
3rd, leave off the pinion gear and assembly case in place but rear wheels would do nothing (easiest and cheapest)
4th, remove diff in trans, change to 2wd, put on extention housing, and get 2wd passenger axle shaft (a lot of work but Ihave all parts free)

I really want to fix the van right. it is an 01 T&C in mint shape, loaded with everything, sunroof, heated leather, 1 owner 130,000 miles and I bought it for $1000. the shop told them it needed a trans. In 10 min I figured it needed a transfercase. took me 40 min to get it out, now I'm stuck looking for a transfer case.
