I have read shops and DIYers will just break the fan housing to avoid removing the dash to get that final bolt out. It apparently does no harm. I've also read that bolt can be removed without removing the dash. In any case, the price seems a bit high but not all that bad. It's fixed and your headache is gone.

I saw the $50 blower on ebay, but I know that the reapair place would not waranty the part and just the labor. So if the blower failed I would have to pay two hours labor to get it replaced and then have the hassel of sending the old one back to China or where ever it was shipped from. If the motor fails they are on the hook for parts and labor

We would have to pick up payments for the Charger or 300, The van will be paid off soon so I understand what she is saying. Her student loans will be comming due soon so the van payment will go to that.
