Steering Shroud -- Help with Screws

2002 Dodge Caravan SE

I replaced my multifunction switch by removing the steering column shroud. The screws for the shroud are on the underside of the steering wheel.

Is there any easier way of getting the screws back into the shroud? I'm using a phillips screwdriver while trying to balance the screw on the tip and shoving from the bottom upward into the shroud. I can never hit the direct center to get the screw all the way in.

How do you guys do this job? Not sure if it makes a diff but would a magnetic tipped screwdriver help at all? I have none but if it helps....

Did more searching and came across "screw holders". Looks like a retractable claw that holds the screw/ Seems interesting but i'm concerned it adds to the width of the screw preventing me to enter the shroud opening.

If you can find some screws of the same size with a torx or allen head, they will help hold the screw.
