How to check for DTC's
 

How do you check for these codes? Are these what show up when using the borrowed computer at the auto parts store? Is there another way to do this? I saw in another thread that one can do some magic with the key and ignition switch. On and off 3 or 4 times, or something like that and the codes appear on the odometer. That was on an 02'ish. Mine is a 97 caravan, and that didnt seem to work. Any similar voodoo i can do? Thank you for all the info.

There one of two ways. One using a scanner or cycle the key three times leaving the key o,engine off and either count the flashes on the check engine light or see the P000 code on the odometer. But that doesn't work on every year.
