94 Dodge Caravan shifting problems
I have a 94 Dodge Caravan that shifts just fine until you have to stop; then it will not shift up, seems to be stuck in 2nd until you shut it down and restart it. Once you restart, it shifts just fine until you have to stop again. Any ideas on where to start with this issue?

Did you know if you have a 3 speed or 4 speed transmission?

3 or 4 speed transmission
I don't know if it is a 3 or 4 speed tranny, where would I look to find that information? I do know that it is a 3.8 engine.

Found that a can of Seafoam transmission tuneup cleaned up the transmission just fine. A filter change and new Dextron ATF-4 the transmission is shifting just fine for now! BTW, I believe it is a four speed transmission, 3.8 L engine.

Thats correct. The 3.0 engine could either have a 3 speed 31TH transmission or the 4 speed 41TE transmission. The 3.3 and 3.8 only have the 41TE transmission, and the 3.8 can also be 41AE. Which is the All Wheel Drive transmission.
