must be doing something wrong. This will be my 3rd time today to try and post a message in regards to the BCM on our 2000 Grand Caravan. We have zero electrical power going from ignition to engine. Husband talked to a man today about replacing the powertrain module. It was suggested to him that the culprit is more likely to be the BCM causing the problem. We want to be very careful in removing it. Any good video instructions anyone can recommend ?
2nd Question: is there anyway to temporarily bypass the BCM to show instrument panel indicators ?

Head to YouTube and type "dodge caravan BCM" in the search block. There's a few videos there but I wouldn't call them good. 1996-2000 are all the same. Have you eliminated the single most common plague effecting the 3rd generation vans - cracked solder joints on the instrument cluster circuit board? Worst case scenario for that all too common problem is no crank. Bypass BCM? Figure that one out and you'll make thousands happy.

 

I appreciate your response. I felt that the videos for removing the BCM for earlier Gen 3 caravans probably were probably very similar or the same procedure. We have viewed them a few times. I nixed his working on it today as we have a major storm due and there are other priorties. We actually had planned to park the van and do some other maintenance on it. It is AWD and our preferred winter vehicle although we do have a Jeep Grand Cherokee that is 4 x 4.

You confirmed our suspicion that you cannot by pass the BCM.
