Valve stem replacement help.

I have a 2008 grand caravan sxt and one of the tires had a slow leak, after checking it out I noticed that the valve stem was broken. We took it to walmart to get it fixed and they said that they have to replace the whole tpms and they can't do just the valve stem. Is this correct or can I just take it to a tire shop and get the valve and stem replaced?

the Valve stem is built into the TPMS, so YES, The whole thing must be replaced. Sorry, I'm sure that's not what you wanted to hear.

That is correct, But the nice thing about the TPMS sensor is you don't need to go to the dealer to have it program. You can do that by driving for 2 to 5 miles at 30 MPH.

Earlier this summer I replaced the sensors in my '09 using Schrader part number 28434. They have rubber covered stems and are direct fit, and they do not require programming. Another plus is you can replace just the stem on these.
