06 grand caravan
 

hello . I have a 06 grand caravan I have owned for 9 yrs with 200,000 .
no mechanical issues until yesterday ran fine all morning stopped for lunch
tried to start it and it did not start it will turn over but won't start full tank of gas. had it towed home went this morning and it started turned it off and tried to restart and again it would turn over but not start .
disconnected the battery to recharge it.
reinstalled battery and it started right up left it run for 20 min no problems . turned it off and again it will turn over will not start.

Can be a number of things. I say do what you can and start it and drive it to a auto part store or dealer and have them scan it for codes. You never mentioned any check engine light!?

Have to start with determining what is missing meaning spark or fuel or both.

Fuel > Turn the key to on. Should hear the pump run for a second. Pump is the back on the fuel tank. You may have a fuel test port on the furl rail on top of the engine. Depress the pin in the port. Fuel should squirt, not dribble. Connect a fuel pressure gauge (sign out from parts store) to check for pressure. Should see near 55 psi

Spark > Connect a timing light or inductive spark detector to a couple plug wires. If lights blinks as you crank you have spark. Disconnect a plug wire and touch to ground as you crank the engine. Should see intermittent blue spark.

Usual culptits: crankshaft sensor, ignition coil, PCM, fuel pump. There can be others.

You can check for codes in your driveway. Turn the key from off to on/run 3 times and leave it on. Read the codes on the odometer display. Using a scanner or code reader is the best way. As little as $15.
