Intermittent Warm Start Trouble 97 Caravan
My wife has a 97 Gran Caravan with a 3.8 litre engine. For the past couple months she has been experiencing an intermittent starting problem. It seems to happen only after the engine is warm. Before now every time I would try it would start right up. Today she took a 20 minute ride home from work. She had to go right out again after arriving home. It wouldn't start. I went out and tried it and it initially wouldn't start. Turn the key, hear a click, but starter wouldn't engage. (2 weeks ago I had the battery tested and it is fine) I was finally able to start it by turning the key on and off rapidly about 7 or 8 times. Could this be a starter problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You need a starter motor. Try it several times in a row when it clicks, it usually will start. Replace it soon, you are on borrowed time now.
