Default Dyno'd Chalenger..

I had the car dyno'd for the fun of it to get a good baseline. I have the srt8 6speed. All I have done to it is a CAI (the mopar one with the blue cone). It put down at the wheels 374.8hp and 367tq. As soon as i figure out how to get this site allow me to post pics I will put the chart up and the video of the dyno. There was a local mustang club that invited me to join them for their dyno day. They all seemed to be pretty impressed with it, esp it being stock. Out of about 50 cars mine was top 5 in hp, pretty cool group of guys.

I want to add the sms supercharger or go all motor have it bored and stroked. Right now with the economy dropping people arent spending money in my shop so I will be holding off few months before I touch it. I'm pretty hapy with its performance right now, but man this car is screaming for some power mods to live up to its potential!

I had it done at ART (American Racing Technology). Can check them out, in Buda Texas. Their cash cow are building the vipers. The miliage really is good for the HP and the extreme weight. When I am nice to it (according to the computer) it is getting about 17.2 MPG, I do a mix of city and hwy. Improvement over my Dakota V8. As of this post I only have 560 miles on it. I mostly drive my saturn that get 35+mpg so I dont mind feeding the challenger.

you said "your shop"..i wondered what kind of shop you ran?

17 isnt too bad...for a car that will likely run well into the 12s..

have you found a speed limiter on your car?

Well havent been that crazy to "open" it up. I know a local guy here said his automatic on some track did 168mph in the standing milie run. Yes the car has no problems smoking the in first 3 gears but I dont intend to do that as these F1 supercar tires are 375-400.00 each. I just like to drive along at the speed limit maybe a bit above and play where I can. At 33 years old I am not immune to losing my insurance on this car if I get busted with a reckless driving ticket. I'll leaving the racing to fun night at the track
