Gas Tank Leak around Filler Neck Inlet
I have a 2014 Challenger RT with the 5.7. We started smelling raw gas a few weeks ago. I pulled the back seat out to see if the fuel pump was leaking and everything was fine there.
Filled the tank today and jacked the car up today so I could check it out. Had a puddle rapidly forming and found the culprit was the seal around where the fuel filler neck attaches. It isn't the hose clamps, I checked both of those and resecured them. It is coming from the gas tank body around the yellowish inlet valve. Does anybody know what that is actually called and if it can be replaced without replacing the entire fuel tank? |
I think you have to replace the entire tank. If the warranty won't cover it, then I'd replace it with a stainless steel tank.
