Default 06 Charger Rear end humming on acceleration.

Hi All,

New to the forum. Just purchased an 06 charger with 198kms or 123k miles on it.

perfect condition just one issue. I have a noise in the rear end. this noise occurs when accelerating or on the throttle. It sounds almost like worn out tires but the sound disapears when I lift my foot off the gas. The faster I go the louder it is.

My money is on a bearing. Anyone else have this issue or have any better ideas of what it may be?

thanks!

06,

Welcome to the forum. Hard to diagnose from this end but I would be sure to check fluid level in rear differential.

Thanks for the response! Took it to a tranny shop, the expert and I don't mean that sarcastically, thinks the diff will need to be replaced or rebuilt said it sounds like gear noise. I will know today or Monday.
