2013 SXT Plus Outside Temp stuck at 75 Degrees

Hi folks, new here, just purchased my Charger.
I noticed today that the outside temp stays at 75 degrees. I have read that there was a similar problem in other Dodge vehicles and an update fixed it, anyone have this issue or any info on it?
Thanks

OK, Update. I am in Florida, it was 89 degrees out today. Took the car out at noon, it had been in a garage that has AC. I drove it for about 40 mins and it stayed at 75 degrees. Tonight it dropped to 72 when raining and reached back up to 78 but it seems to change very very slowly. My other vehicles outside temp gauges react more quickly.

The temp sensor is bad, I had this happen in a Nissan Altima I had, temp was stuck at 68 degrees no matter what, after I had the engine/car detailed...at the dealer. They said it must have gotten wet? I dunno.
They ordered a new sensor, they called me, I went over to the dealer and it took them about 20 minutes to replace it, under warranty too. Time to take it to the dealer and have them order you a new temp sensor! You gotta know how hot or cold it is!

x2 Bring it do a dealership. I had a problem where it didn't always display the temperature or compass. A software update fixed my problem. I would have them install a new sensor and flash the computer.

Well it turns out there is a TSB on this released August 31. Actually what happens is it takes almost 10 min's for it to adjust once the ignition is turned on. She is in the shop today, so I will see what happens. Thanks for the info.

Well I guess I was mistaken about the TSB. Car is in the shop today and even though it takes close to ten minutes for the ambient temp display to start changing they tell me it is working as designed. I see in other forums that there are similar issues, wonder where I go after this?

That sucks...why does it take 10 mnts to display?? Did they give an explanation for that? I have 2013 and it seems the temp is always right on the money right away out of the gate. I have a thermometer in my backyard and I check it before I leave and the cars temp is always in sync with it. Not sure where you go from here ...?

No, no explanation. Just No Problem found, Operation Normal.

The RO states: CS TEMP IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED, FOUND NO CODE OR UPDATES. no code no updates pcm is up to date. system is working normal. no work done.

My guess is that the tech did not take notice, ran the car to check the other issue first and by the time he got to this complaint it was already updated as I am sure a few minuets had passed. This was the second line on the RO.

Years ago I wrote service and any time a tech returned NPF I would always double check it myself. In general (not always) most people do not bring their vehicle in for make believe issues. I would rather have heard " Can you come by and show us exactly what you mean so we can confirm the issue".

Well similar response from Dodge about the issue. I will go to the dealership and test a few cars. If I find the same results it is what it is, if not it will be repair order #2.

Thank you for contacting the Dodge Customer Assistance Center in regards
to your 2013 Charger.

I am sorry to learn of the concerns raised regarding your vehicle's
outside temp display. I appreciate the time taken to bring this matter
to our attention.

We are sorry to learn of your dissatisfaction and understand how this
might cause concern. The characteristic you describe, however, is a
function of your vehicle's design and there is nothing that can be done
to ?fix? the condition.

There are no quick temperature fluctuations because if the vehicle is
parked in the sun or shade and takes a reading, it could be inacurate.
The vehicle instead monitors a whole bunch of different readings and
displays an average after a certain amount of time.

While a more favorable response could not be provided, I hope this
information further assists with your inquiry.

Interesting. I will have to pay more attention to mine to see how long it takes to get accurate temp readings, so far I have not noticed anything out of the Norm.
Did the dealer replace the temp sensor?
