2014 RT Vibration at highway speed.
 

Bought this car in 2016 with 15000 miles on it. Test drove and it had a vibration around 65. Dealer balanced wheels, still had the problem and dealer said that the tires were the problem. Replaced tires with top of the line Michelin and had tires road force balanced. Car has the factory 20" chrome clad wheels on it, and it still feels like there is something out of balance. Anybody have any similar problems like this.

Do you know what tires were on it that you replaced? I have a 2014 R/T with the same 20" chrome rims. Mine have BF Goodrich g-Force Sport Comp-2 tires on them and I have no vibrations at any speed.

Also, do you get the same vibration @ 65 mph on any road? I know there is a stretch of freeway that I drive on that feels like the wheels are out of alignment, but then after that stretch everything is smooth again.

I currently have over 33,000 on the BF Goodrich tires, they'll need to be changed soon. If I might ask, which model Michelin tires did you get?

Another suggestion might be that have an independent tire dealer like Belle Tire or Discount Tire balance them for you. Wouldn't hurt any and shouldn't cost too much.

where is the vibration felt; steering wheel or floor of the car?

if the tires have been changed and road forced balanced and the road force numbers were below 18lbs the wheels and tires are ok.

Test drive with the shop foreman and demonstrate the vibration with him in the vehicle. You must be able to demonstrate the problem with him present.

Does it occur when the vehicle enters cylinder de-activation/eco mode?

Ask if the dealership has a electronic vibration analyzer, this tool will measure the vibration resonance. the frequency is a telltale of the vibration source
possible sources are:
wheels and tires- ruled out
driveshaft/ujoints
axles, cv shafts
engine/transmission

It might be worth asking around at different tire shops until you get that vibe (no pun intended) that they really want to help you. I had vibrations in my 2014 RT (19 inch rims) at 60-plus mph. I had just bought the car used (60k miles). First went back to dealer, who re-balanced, which reduced the vibrations but not completely. Second, I went to two national tire chains and neither seemed interested or knowledgeable in diagnosing the vibration problem. So third, I went to a random small inner-city tire and wheel shop, that Waze found. Guy there seemed to know right away what I was talking about. He twice brought me into the garage, showed me on the balancer how the rims were perfect round, but tires were out of round and had heavy spots. I bought tires took away the vibrations. It might have made all the difference if his guys knew what they were doing when mounting/balancing. I read that some rims are lug-centric, where the wheel load bears on the lug. In that case, lug nuts need to be tightened incrementally in a star pattern, where otherwise a small offset in the mount could cause vibrations. Also I noticed from mileage history that the car was sitting in dealer's lot for most of the year. I suspect that if the car wasn't moved much during that time, the wheels could have deformed being in the same position.

Erm, year old thread.... (almost) I would hope he has gotten it fixed by now. Also, the original poster has one post........ which rather implies they haven't even been back to check on the thread.
