So I know I am probably going to get some grief for asking this. But, I have a 2006 charger R/T 5.7 hemi. My motor blew a couple months ago. So I ran across this guy with an 04 Ram 5.7 no paperwork bad transmission. So I pulled the ram Hemi, put new heads on it for the charger. Charger intake, oil pan, front cover, etc etc etc. I haven't had the money to get the diablo tuner to tune out the mds on my computer so I have been just dealing with the CEL light being on. But my question is what is the difference in these motors because there has to be because it's like having a completely different charger now. It has a good bit more power than it ever has. Or so it feels to me atleast. So just remember this is my 1st HEMI so I don't know alot about them besides they are probably the easiest engines in the world to work on. I've had like 5 durangos 1 with a 4.7,3 5.2's and a 5.9 so the HEMI is new to me. Any advice would be entertaining.

There are likely some differences, albeit, relatively minor. Probably different cam, etc. Real possibility the truck motor puts out more low-end torque than the car motor, and that makes it feel more powerful.

Nope. LX engines were tuned (and the intake manifold difference) for more torque (340hp/390tq) than their truck counterparts at the time (345hp/375tq). Same cam. It's probably a healthier engine, not to mention it isn't using MDS at all.

The car had more torque than the truck??? Wonder what Dodges reasoning for that was......

Function of packaging I should think. The intake manifolds are very different between the two and are tailored to how the engine is situated in the engine compartment. Trucks had clutch fans so they didn't want a TB out the front so it came out up top. Cars didn't have this problem.
