Default fiberglass or steel ?

Hi folks []
I am restoring my 68 dart post car to daily driver, ocasional show & race. I need
to replace all 4 fenders. Can any one help me on which to choose(glass or steel).
I am of average mech ability & plan to do my own work.

I would only replace the quarter panels with steel, but the fenders are good to go either way. The fiberglass would lighten the car giving you a little better performance and fuel mileage, but could easily get damaged and/or crack. The steel would be stronger and better looking, but it can rust whereas fiberglass cannot. It's all up to you.

I'd go both, steel is heavier of course but you can use that as an advantage. Put steel Fenders on the rear and Fiberglass on the front. If your going to put weight anywhere on the car make sure it's at the rear. [8D]
It depends on how serious you are, if you want show go steel, drag go fiberglass but I still think both would suit your needs. End of the day it's your call and also your money.

Let us know what you chose and how you get on mate.

My dad has fiberglass fenders on his '74 Barracuda and they look pretty good, but you can tell as soon as the hood is opened. I don't think anyone makes such things for my Roadrunner.[sm=smiley19.gif]
