1960 Dodge Dart Pheonix

Just picked up a 1960 Dodge Dart phoenix. It seems to hang low in the back...more so the passenger side.Cant see anything broke...Can you use air shocks to lift these?? Doesn't run right now but the engine seems free, Want to empty the old gas and fill with new gas , No brakes but will investigate that also. ANYBODY got any advise on these?? Don't know where to start!!!:icon_hyper::icon_playing::icon_bike:

I had similar sagging problem with my 5th Ave, when I put new shocks in the rear I installed a pair of coil over shocks, it now sits nice and level.
I need you to clarify the running situation, when you say its not running right now, do mean you its not running at all or it runs but not correctly.
With the brakes I'm assuming it has drums all around, start by pulling all the drums off and check the wheel cylinders for leakage, then examine all the brake lines.

car didn't run in 20 years. Have to get keys made. popped out the ignition switch today..to give to locksmith in the AM. I changed oil/filter plugs/wires etc. put in a fresh battery...just waiting on the keys. Hope she goes without any knocks>> Tempted to hot wire it, but it started getting dark out...so I decided to wait for keys. Talked to a couple guys about the coil overs vs airshocks. This thing is a very long boat so air shocks will probably be the best way to go to guarantee the best LIFT.. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!! Always good to hear from you dodge fans!!

Want to drain the gas out the tank. See a round metal plug of some sort toward the rear of the tank. Anybody know how these come out? Plug has a hole in the center. Can see if it's a hex key hole or just a round hole. ( i'm so blind ) Any help always appreciated !!!

I had a 64 Rambler years ago with the same type of plug, I used an e-z out to remove it, and replaced it with a bolt the same size with a hex head and rubber gasket.

1960 dart trans leak.

Got my 1960 dart up and running. sounds pretty good...unfortunately, trans leaks in between motor and trans area. Would this be the front trans seal??

rare aries 10-01-2009 10:00 AM

It could be your rear main seal or the pump seal on the tranny.
