69 dodge wont start

i have a 69 dodge D100 pickup with a 85 318 in it truck ran god but it burned a few valves a few years ago. so i took the truck apart and put a new and bigger cam in it. new lifters. 340 heads torker intake headers and a eddy carb. went to go fire the truck up and it just cranks and cranks but no start, its top dead everything and has compression. has spark. dumped fuel in the carb to start it and it coughs it right back out. i think the carbs bad because i had it on another truckand the truck it was on ran like crap. and the truck has been sitting for 2 years and i finally got it all together over the past week. any ideas on what the problem is? im thinking fuel

Try pulling the distributor and rotate it 180 degrees. Even though the #1 piston is TDC the distributor might not be firing at the #1. Before you pull the distributor mark where the cap is in relation to the body of the distributor, turn the rotor so the firing tip is opposite where it was, and drop the distributor back down.

you have a vaccunm leek under the two rear bores. the manifold has a different with. you need a spcel plate under the carb. and a wide gasket on the manifold.

i spend a few years setting the points on a duel point hemi the hard way till i found out they could only be right or 180 outy. you never foreget something you learn the hard way.
