Need front end tow hooks, can'tr find them anywhere!!
 

Hey y'all! I've run into a dilemma. I have been searching for tow hooks for my '01 dakota for quite some time now. I have even called the dealer, they don't seem to exist. If you take a look at the front end of your dakota, you'll see the basic "universal" tow hooks won't fit. They are straight with 2 bolts, and there is nowhere under there, where they can be bolted to be useful. So if anyone knows of tow hooks made for the front of a dakota, or know's a quality fabrication, please advise. Thank you!

I've been looking for some for my '04, also. Found a Dodge part number
" 82204668 Hook Kit 01-057-00 "
on another site (wish I could remember) where someone had installed the kit.
Haven't tried a dealership, though.
I think DC quit making the kit, 'cause they want you to use the hitch receiver tow hook kit instead.

According to another site, full size GM 1500 front tow hooks can be made to fit, but model year range for the GM was not provided, nor was how to adapt them to the Dakota, so it was useless info.

I'm gonna end up fabricating my own, I guess.

Putting on a police push bar is going to be real difficult, also (another thing I want to do), because of the way the frame opens up right behind the bumper.

Thanks! I've looked some more, and you're right. I have decided to fabricate mine. I'm thinking of a bracket that will both stabilize the brush guard, and provide a place for universal tow hooks.

This might too late, but I finally found some myself. Although they are desribed for 2004-2005, I don't understand why they would not work for an '01.

thanks for that link, youmight be right. However, i think i'd have to modify/replace my bumper. there's no holes for that in my '01
