Default Running light/turn signal HOT

2016 Dodge Dart GT.
I've had to replace the running lamp/turn signals twice (standard bulbs - NOT LED), the socket for the bulbs seems to be running super hot, the plastic appearing almost burnt and charred. The first time the Autozone tech helped me, he applied dialetric grease before inserting. It seems to have gotten so hot that it burnt the grease, and created a smoke or some other sort of off-gassing that has now fogged up the interior of the headlight lens.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? I'm currently fighting Autozone about the grease damage, but they're saying it's a flaw with the lamp assembly.
