2013 dart shifter wont shift outta park
 

hi I have a 13 dart it had a dead battery when it was jumped now wont shift outta park but if I use shifter lock out button it works great only wont shift outta park and also the key fobe wont come outta the ignition ? any ideas I tried brake switch but didn't seem to do nothing

I know this is a little old now, but for others that may read this.

There’s a recall for the shift cable bushing.
The bushing fails and the cable pops off the lever on the transmission.

The stealership will want to sell you a new cable ($700), and have you put in an FCA claim to get your money back.
Then the bushing will be replaced under the recall when they have a recall part available.

There is an aftermarket fix from BushingFix.com (TB1KIT19), and a Dorman part (14055) that fits.

The quick fix is to put the cable end back on the lever and tie wrap it in place.
